DC Comics removing ‘the American way’ from Superman slogan: report – Fox Business

For years, the renowned comic-book character Superman has actually stood for “truth, justice and the American method.” However apparently those days are over.

” Superman has long been a sign of hope who influences people, and it is that optimism and hope that powers him forward with this new mission statement.”.
Lee declined to elaborate on why “the American method” was being terminated. It has actually been linked to the character since the 1940s radio program “Adventures of Superman,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The slogan change was the 2nd half of a recent 1-2 punch for fans of the standard Superman. Last week came news that an upcoming Superman comics will include Jon Kent– boy of Supermans alter-ego, newspaper reporter Clark Kent– as a bisexual Superman.
Burbank, California-based DC Comics is a division of the home entertainment business Warner Brothers.

DC Comics, the longtime publisher of Superman comics, now says the Man of Steel means “reality, justice … and a much better tomorrow,” according to a report.
The modification reflects a broader, more international vision for the world of Superman, Jim Lee, DCs primary imaginative officer and publisher, stated Saturday during the businesss virtual DC FanDome event, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
