Yankees news: Luke Voit expected to return for Rays’ series – Pinstripe Alley

New York Post | Greg Joyce: Gio Urshela remained out of the lineup in Saturday’s win over the Nationals, but manager Aaron Boone said the third baseman is doing better. An MRI after the game in which he injured his knee showed no structural damage, but Urshela missed a second straight game. It’s unclear if he’ll return for Sunday or for Tuesday’s opener against the Rays, but the Yankees are insistent that the injury is just a day-to-day one.

CBS Sports | R.J. Anderson: Speaking of Yankees on the mend from injury, the Yankees are expecting Luke Voit to rejoin the lineup for the Rays series. The first baseman hasn’t played in the big leagues so far this season, but did hit his second home run while rehabbing in Triple-A yesterday.

New York Post | Greg Joyce: Estevan Florial has had his progress as a prospect stopped by multiple injuries and a worldwide pandemic. Throughout that, he has remained intriguing, and that’s shown through as he’s gotten off to a very hot start this year. The 23-year-old is starting the year in Double-A after spending five seasons in the lower parts of the minors, and could be poised to recapture some of the top prospect luster that he held earlier in his career.

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: In honor of Mother’s Day, here’s a story on Yankees Magazine photographer Ariele Goldman Hecht, who is a mother herself. She has been around for and captured some memorable moments in recent seasons, and developed a friendship with former Yankees’ shortstop and fellow avid photographer, Didi Gregorius.
