Rob Gronkowski gives Julian Edelman a ’69 percent chance’ of return to Buccaneers – Boston.com

” Julian was the ultimate rival, male,” Gronkowski stated. “Nothing however big props to Julian guy, he was a great colleague. … Youve got to provide it to Jules, he gave it his all his whole profession and he was a terrific teammate. I had a lot of good times with him, and hes going to continue thriving.”

” Hell be back,” Gronkowski included.

” Due to an injury in 2015, Ill be making my official announcement of my retirement from football,” Edelman said. “It was a tough decision, but the best decision for me and my family. And Im honored and so happy to be retiring a Patriot.”

Gronkowski was asked why that number specifically (most likely, the questioner understood the response).

Count Rob Gronkowski among the people who think Julian Edelmans NFL profession might not really be over.

Gronkowski added that he believes theres a “terrific possibility” Edelman could be a Hall of Famer.

“Tried to practice, had a little bit of a problem, was not on the field again and at that point, it became extremely clear to the people close to Julian Edelman that this knee injury was troublesome and possibly career-ending.”

” 69 percent possibility,” he quipped, breaking out his preferred number.

” You asked if theres a possibility. I offered you a number,” Gronkowski said.

On Monday evening, however, Gronkowski– who was identified at LAX by TMZ– provided a different opinion. Asked if Edelman may join the cadre of previous Patriots stars in Tampa Bay, where Gronkowski and Tom Brady won the Super Bowl in February, Gronkowski laughed.

Edelman revealed his retirement on Monday by means of social networks, calling it a “hell of a run.” The 34-year-old pass receiver pointed out a knee injury as his reason for retirement.
