Hugh Jackman & Laura Dern To Star In Florian Zeller’s ‘The Son’, See-Saw To Produce Follow-Up To Oscar-Nominee ‘The Father’ – Deadline

Jackman is represented by WME and Lou Coulson Associates. Zeller is repped by CAA.

Oscar winners Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (The Kings Speech), and Joanna Laurie of See-Saw Films, produce with Christophe Spadone (The Father) together with Zeller. Film4 are co-financing production.

Adapted by Zeller and Oscar-winner Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons), from Zellers well-known stage play, The Son focuses on Peter (Jackman) as his hectic life with brand-new partner Emma and their baby is tossed into disarray when his ex-wife Kate (Dern) turns up with their teenage boy, Nicholas. Peter makes every effort to be a much better daddy, searching to help his child with those intimate and instinctive moments of family joy. Zeller is delighting in recognition for his debut film The Father, launched in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics in February. The film, starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, has won two BAFTAs and is nominated for 6 Oscars consisting of Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Editing, Production Design, Leading Actor and Supporting Actress.
