Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman and Oscar winner Laura Dern have been set to star in blue-chip function drama The Kid, writer-director Florian Zellers follow-up to his Oscar-nominated film The Father.
Adjusted by Zeller and Oscar-winner Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons), from Zellers acclaimed phase play, The Son focuses on Peter (Jackman) as his hectic life with brand-new partner Emma and their infant is tossed into disarray when his ex-wife Kate (Dern) turns up with their teenage kid, Nicholas. Peter aims to be a much better daddy, browsing to help his boy with those intimate and instinctive minutes of household joy. Zeller is delighting in acclaim for his launching film The Father, released in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics in February. The movie, starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, has actually won two BAFTAs and is chosen for 6 Oscars including Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Editing, Production Design, Leading Actor and Supporting Actress.
