Kansas guard Bryce Thompson will not be returning to Lawrence for his sophomore season.
The 6-foot-5 freshman guard confirmed to 247Sports that he has notified Jayhawks head coach Bill Self of his intent to enter the transfer portal.
” I just want to say thank you to the Kansas coaching personnel, the team doctors, all the personnel and the fans for supporting me considering that I got to Lawrence,” Thompson told 247Sports. “I appreciate everyone supporting me from the first day but after mindful factor to consider with my household I feel that it remains in my benefit to get in the transfer website.”
A luxury prospect and McDonalds All-American at Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington, Thompson ranked No. 20 overall in the 247Sports ranking of the class of 2020 and No. 21 in the market generated 247Sports Composite.
A proficient shot creator off the dribble who can guard several positions along the boundary, Thompson battled a back injury and damaged hand throughout a freshman season where he balanced 4.6 points per game and made four starts.
Prior to signing with Kansas, Thompson greatly thought about North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Tulsa among lots of others. With almost 1,300 names in the transfer portal, Thompson must instantly turn into one of the best available transfers on the market and is most likely to draw in attention really similar to that which he got when he was coming out of high school.
